A car has been seized after police said the driver didn't have a full licence.
Officers from Portland Neighbourhood Policing Team received reports that a car was being driven by an 'unsupervised learner driver' on the island.
The vehicle was spotted and stopped on Easton Lane this afternoon. Upon carrying out checks, police said it was confirmed the driver only had a provisional licence and the car was subsequently seized.
A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland police said: "Portland Neighbourhood Policing Team had received several calls in relation to concerns about a vehicle being driven by a sole occupant who only had a provisional licence.
"The vehicle was spotted and stopped on Easton Lane this afternoon. Checks confirmed that the driver did not hold a full licence, and subsequently the vehicle was seized.
"We continue to thank members of the public who raise these concerns.
