A Dorset woman is distraught after posters of her lost dog were torn down.
Julia was walking her dog Doris on October 21 around Poole when she bolted into darkness.
Julia posted missing dog posters across Poole in hopes to be reunited with her four-legged friend.
She said: “We were walking back from the Quay and going into Whitecliffe Park.
“It got dark without us realising, if you know what I mean. It took us by surprise and then we just turned around and she was gone.
“We didn't hear her bark. We didn't hear her run off; we didn't hear anything.
“She just was gone. So, we did the wrong thing and started looking for her.
“If we hadn’t done that, our dog wouldn't be missing because she went back to the car about 40 minutes later. It was caught on video from one of the houses in Whitecliff Road.”
Now, the majority of the posters have been ripped down and discarded, leaving Julia and her family heartbroken.
Cameras that were also placed in areas where Doris may have visited were also damaged.
Julia also said that after putting her mobile number as a point of contact on the poster, she has received unwanted sexual videos and a spate of hateful phone calls.
She added: “There were hundreds of people calling and taking time out of their day to help find Doris which is great.
“There are some wonderful people, there's also been some absolutely horrific people.
“I got a video call coming in on WhatsApp and it was a man carrying out a sex act.
"I’m just so worried about my dog, Is she being mistreated? Is she trapped down a hole and is starving to death? It's just horrific to even think about.”
Julia has also offered a finder’s fee with no questions asked for the return of Doris.
Doris is a small black and white terrier cross believed to be in the Poole area. She will be scared and trying to hide. If you see her, do not approach, chase or grab her.
