Firefighters rushed to the scene of Newstead Road in Weymouth following reports of a fire.

According to the fire service, crews were called to a commercial premises on Newstead Road in Weymouth at 4.15pm yesterday (Thursday, November 14).

Two fire engines from Weymouth, and one from Portland raced to the scene, and found on arrival that the fire involved an electrical board.

No injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “We were called at 4:15pm yesterday to reports of a fire at a commercial premises on Newstead Road, Weymouth.

“Two fire engines from Weymouth were mobilised along with one from Portland and on arrival found a fire involving an electrical board.

“Two firefighters in breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a carbon dioxide extinguisher and our stop was at 4:51pm. No casualties were reported.”
