A popular seafront café in Lyme Regis has closed.
The Beach & Badger café - on the Marine Parade above the National Trust shop on Lyme Regis seafront - announced its last day of trading was Friday, November 8.
The owner, Jane Croft, says she is no longer able to work at the café due to a serious health condition.
The café opened in April of last year as an extension to an already established delivery and catering service, which will continue operating.
Ms Croft said: "To all our loyal customers and friends, tomorrow will be our last day trading. Due to a serious health condition, I am no longer able to work the cafe and catering so will be concentrating on my love of catering people’s parties/weddings and gatherings, with extra party and event offerings.
"It’s been wonderful and thank you all for your support but Beach & Badger is not disappearing and of course, we will still be in town.
"The space will be reopened as The Terrace, with a delicious morning and lunch menu with evening events planned soon. I hope you support them like you have us.
"See you all soon. Lots of love Jane."
When the café opened in April of 2023, Ms Croft told The News that she wanted to offer something different to the array of other businesses in Lyme as she decided to go down the pie-and-mash route.
The name 'Beach & Badger' derives from Ms Croft's dog, Badger, who sadly passed away in 2023.
