A new payment method is being introduced on Dorset buses.
First Wessex buses running through the county are introducing a tap on tap off (TOTO) system of payment for commuters.
The technology will be set up from Sunday, December 1, allowing passengers to simply tap on at the start of their journey with their card, phone, smartwatch or other smart device and tap off when their journey is completed.
The aim of the new payment system is to allow for a speedier boarding process.
James Eustace, Commercial Director for First Wessex, said: “Tap on Tap off technology allows our customers ultimate flexibility. We’re delighted that everyone using our routes in Dorset and neighbouring routes in Somerset will now be able to benefit.
“With rising costs, we know bus travel is a cost-effective way to get around. Whether customers use the bus every day, or only travel occasionally, TOTO ensures a quick and easy way to pay for their journey.”
