A woman has been arrested for alleged shoplifting in Weymouth.
Dorset Police were called to a store on Abbotsbury Road on Friday night to reports of an 'aggressive shoplifter' which promoted a search of Weymouth town centre to find the suspect.
A woman was subsequently found and arrested following an 'extensive' search, according to police and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received reports of an aggressive shoplifter on Abbotsbury Road, after an extensive search around town, the female was located and with help from my colleagues in our Neighbourhood Enforcement Team, was arrested.
"She is now in custody assisting with our enquiries."
