RESIDENTS across Poole have been left without water after third-party damage was caused to a water main in Wessex Water's network.
Residents in the Parkstone, Ashley Cross, Oakdale, Poole town centre, Lilliput and Canford Cliffs areas have reported water is not coming from their taps.
Wessex Water said: “Third-party damage to a water main has left some customers without water or experiencing low pressure.
“Engineers are on site now and working to fix the problem as quickly as possible. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.”
Wessex Water supplies water to more than 2.9 million customers across the south west - although slightly less this afternoon, November 8.
Poole’s Labour MP Neil Duncan-Jordan posted about the outage on social media. He said: "There is currently a water outage in Poole due to 3rd party damage to a water main. Wessex Water are on site fixing this and have estimated that this will be resolved by 5pm.
"If you are on the Priority Services Register, Wessex Water should have contacted you already. If you have additional needs/need extra help due to this water outage and are not signed up with the Priority Services Register - please call Wessex Water on 0345 600 4600.
"You might experience discolouration once water is restored. Wessex Water advise to run your cold water kitchen tap for up to 30-40 minutes until the water runs clean again. If you are on a Water Meter and have to run your taps, you can call Wessex Water on 0345 600 4600 for a 'Flushing Allowance' to ensure you are not charged for this.
"As always, my team are on hand to support any constituents."
