ROADS in a Dorset village will be closed while fibre internet is installed.
The following streets in Compton Abbas will be closed while Wessex Internet has safe access to carry out fibre installation works: Chapel Hill in its entirety; High Street between Chapel Hill and Sandpit Lane and Sandpit Lane in its entirety.
The closure order will come into operation on November 18 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by December 6.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
