This Remembrance weekend, a family history record service is offering free access to all of their records to enable more people to discover their family’s wartime experiences.
From November 7 – 11, anyone can delve into the billions of records and historical newspapers on Findmypast, including the exclusive 1921 Census for the first time.
There are millions of military records available – from WWI service records to medical records, enrolment forms, and rolls of honour – people can trace every detail of their ancestors’ wartime service across the globe.
With this unique opportunity, those interested can trace their lives and ancestors.
This free opportunity comes after new research conducted by Findmypast revealed that 1.18 million wartime stories are at risk of being forgotten, with a staggering two thirds of British people admitting that they haven't researched an ancestor who served.
