Three men have been arrested after two men were injured during an assault in Weymouth town centre.

As reported, one of the victims sustained a fractured jaw and the other man sustained a cut lip, laceration on his ear and swelling to his forehead.

Both victims were in their 20s.

A subsequent CCTV image appeal was launched by Dorset Police to identify four men they wished to identify following the assault which involved a group of up to eight men. 

Detectives investigating the reported assaults on Westham road have now arrested three 19-year-old men from the local area on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

They have been released under investigation as further enquiries are carried out.

Detectives investigating the attacks have also re-issued an image of a man they are still looking to identify.

The alleged assaults took place at 4am on Sunday 27 October.

Detective Constable Megan Matthews, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and I am issuing a CCTV image of a man we are still looking to identify in connection with the incident.

“I would ask anyone with information regarding his identity to please come forward.”
