A woman has been bitten by two dogs in a vicious attack in Lyme Regis.
A local woman, aged in her 40s, was attacked by the two animal, without an owner present, in Queens Walk, Lyme Regis at around 1pm yesterday, according to police.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment to puncture wounds on her arm and leg.
Town clerk John Wright said: “The town council is aware of the loose dogs and the incident on Monday. This is a very worrying situation for residents and we hope the situation is brought under control as soon as possible.
“We have been in touch with the local police and Magna Housing Association to help move things along.”
Magna Housing has sent text messages to its residents in the area warning them that 'two large dogs are roaming free', urging residents to stay safe.
When asked if the dogs had been seized, Dorset Police said they had no further details.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We have received a report from a member of the public who reported that they were bitten by two dogs – who were without their owner present – in Queens Walk in Lyme Regis at around 1pm on Monday, November 4 2024.
"The victim – a local woman aged in her 40s – attended hospital for treatment to puncture wounds to her arm and leg.
"Enquiries are being carried out into the incident. No arrests have been made."
