A second man has been arrested following a serious assault in Weymouth.
As previously reported, at around 12.50am on Sunday, September 29 an altercation occurred near to the junction of Caroline Place and Westham Road.
A man aged in his 30s sustained serious facial injuries as a result of the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Following a CCTV appeal, a 21-year-old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm, affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He remains in police custody.
Previously, a 27-year-old man from Weymouth was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. He remains released on police bail while enquiries continue.
