A charity that gives wheelchair users and people with disabilities the chance to enjoy boat trips has received a welcome boost.
Jacqui Dixon, ASDA Weymouth's Community Champion, resplendent in her Halloween costume has presented MV Freedom with a £1,000 donation from the ASDA's National Charity Foundation - which supports local organisations across the UK.
MV Freedom takes people who live with any form of disability or mobility issues out for trips in Weymouth Bay.
The charity will be using some of the ASDA funds to cover the cost of winter maintenance on the boat, which involves lifting the boat out of the water, with volunteers then cleaning and repainting the hull below the waterline.
The charity, which works with care homes and many disability groups, is particularly keen to offer trips to disabled people who live Independently, together with their family or carers.
Bookings for the April to October 2025 season will open next March.
