A man has been arrested and charged for his disorderly behaviour in Dorchester, according to police.

Police received a report yesterday from the public about a ‘drunk and aggressive male’ on South Street in the county town.

He was located and immediately arrested, and police said that the man was charged regarding his disorderly behaviour when he sobered up, and will appear before court.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “On Friday, November 1, members of the public reported a drunk and aggressive male in South Street, Dorchester.

“PC 2790 Brotherton of the local Neighbourhood Team located and immediately arrested the male in the busy town centre.

“We have zero tolerance for this type of behaviour in our County Town as people who live or visit here should be able to enjoy their day out in an environment of peace and security.

“As soon as the male was sober enough to be released he was charged regarding his disorderly behaviour and will soon be appearing at court.”
