A festive Christmas carol service is returning to Weymouth.
The Wyke Square Christmas Carol service and Christmas tree light-up is set to take place on Monday, December 23 from 7.15 in Old Wyke Square.
Weymouth Brass Band will be at the community event, joined by a group of locals who will be performing an array of seasonal carols.
A spokesperson for the event said: βItβs a community jolly, the square is full with hundreds of people on a good night. We sing carols, drink mulled wine, the tree gets lit up and we sing more carols.β
The carol service is free to attend, although donations are welcome as it is all in aid of charity.
Mulled wine will also be on offer at the price of a donation.
Although the charities have not yet been chosen, in previous years, donations have been presented to Chesil Sailability, a charity offering accessible sailing opportunities to those with disabilities, and Weymouth Scout Group.
As a safety precaution, there will also be people in high-vis jackets directing traffic in the area.
