A special launch event will be held in Dorchester for a book which explores the tumultuous marriage of one of Dorset's most famous writers.
The Thomas Hardy Society is invited people to attend the launch of Andrew Norman's new book entitled Thomas Hardy and the death of Emma - What the writings reveal‘.
It will be held at the Waterstones on South Street, Dorchester on Saturday, November 16 from 6pm until 7pm.
Mr Norman has compiled a collection of Hardy's poems, exploring what these writings reveal about the couple's marriage, from a romantic courtship, problematic marriage and to a deep bereavement.
From 1972 to 1983, Mr Norman worked as a general practitioner in Poole, Dorset, before a spinal injury cut short his medical career. He is now an established writer whose published works include biographies of Thomas Hardy, Adolf Hitler, Agatha Christie, Enid Blyton, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
The event is free to attend but the society requests that people RSVP. This can be done by going to the Thomas Hardy Society shop wesbite: https://tinyurl.com/yrasbymf
