A 27-year-old man from Weymouth has been arrested for allegedly inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Police have now obtained an image and a description of a man they are looking to identify in connection with the incident. He is described as white, around 20 years old, six feet tall and of slim build with scruffy hair.
Police Constable Mia-Isabella Bowditch, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and have now obtained an image of a man we are looking to identify.
“I appreciate the image is not the best quality, but I am hoping someone may recognise him from his clothing and the description given.”
