A youth has been banned from a public garden on Halloween night after kicking a 92-year-old man's door.
Police have been conducting foot patrols of Easton on Portland today and whilst speaking to a resident they were alerted to a youth who had just kicked the door of a 92-year-old man and ran away.
Officers say that if the youth returns to the public garden tonight, he will be arrested.
Local traders have also been asked to be mindful of who they sell eggs to tonight.
A spokesperson for Weymouth & Portland Police said: "PC Taylor and PC Gibbins from Portland NPT have already been on foot patrol around Easton today.
"We started the afternoon, by asking local businesses to be mindful of selling items such as eggs, to persons who may not be using them to cook tonight.
"We then visited some of our more vulnerable members of the community, for whom Halloween can seem a little intimidating.
"Whilst we were at one of these addresses, a local youth decided to kick the 92-year-old male's front door and run away. He has been directed to leave Easton Gardens, and if he returns tonight, he will be arrested.
"Halloween for many of us is a really fun night, to be enjoyed. We will be on patrol all evening and are looking forward to seeing some of the outfits.
"We hope everyone will respect those who don't wish to take part. Let's keep it fun."
