Three cars were broken into in a late night act of vandalism.

Police are hunting a man and woman allegedly seen smashing their way into vehicles on Greenway Road, in the Redlands area of Weymouth, just after midnight on Tuesday.

Officers believe access was gained to three vehicles before the suspects were disturbed and made off in the direction of Greenway Close, and are still working to confirm what was stolen from inside.

The man involved is described as around 5ft 8ins tall and of slim build. He was wearing dark clothing and a bag around his waist.

The woman is described as 5ft 8ins tall and of larger build. She was wearing a black coat with the hood up and pink and beige tiger print leggings. She also had a bag around her waist

Sergeant Nick May, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this matter and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity, or people matching the descriptions given, in the area during the night of October 28 into the early hours of October 29.

“I would also urge residents in the vicinity to please check their footage from any home CCTV systems or doorbell cameras for anything that might assist our investigation.

“Finally, I would also like to take this opportunity to remind motorists to ensure their vehicles are left secure at all times and never to leave valuables inside when they are unattended.”

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward as they investigate thefts from motor vehicles in Weymouth.
