PRAISE has been heaped upon a popular event celebrating reading and the love of books.
Dorchester Literary Festival returned for a successful 10th year featuring TV presenter Claire Balding and literary icons such as Pam Ayres and Alan Hollinghurst.
Also making an appearance were Gogglebox stars Giles and Mary and TV newsreader John Suchet.
The festival was held from October 12 to 19.
Festival director Janet Gleeson said: “The 10th anniversary of Dorchester Literary Festival was a truly joyous celebration of the written word.
"Our wonderful patron, Tracy Chevalier joined us to talk about her fascinating new novel The Glassmaker.
"We were privileged to be joined by authors including Rory Cellon-Johns, John Suchet, Kate Mosse, Ben Macintyre, Alan Hollinghurst, Giles and Mary, Clare Balding, Victoria Hislop, Jonathan Dimbleby and many more."
"A huge thank you goes to sponsors, volunteers and ticket buyers without whose support the festival wouldn’t be possible."
In a few months' time work will start on the 2025 festival, which will take place from October 18 to 25.
