The colder and darker months are drawing in, but the skies are set to light up in Dorset.

Various firework displays take place across Dorset to celebrate Bonfire Night, offering entertainment for all the family. 

We have compiled a list of the displays set to take place across the county, so you can find the one nearest to you.

Weymouth Beach Guy Fawkes Night 

The free event will return on Tuesday, November 5 with thousands of visitors expected to flock to the beach for a firework and bonfire display. 

The fireworks will be launched at 8pm with the beach bonfire lit up at 7.40pm.

Portland Firework Display 

South West Markets and Events have announced a new firework display to take place at the Market Ground, Easton Lane DT5 2EN on Saturday November 2

There will be a bonfire, hot food a bar and refreshments available. You can also enter the Guy Fawkes competition and have your guy judged on the night with a chance to win a £200 cash prize. 

Entry is free and there will be a £1 parking fee. 

 

Pulpit Inn Firework Display 

 

There will be a low noise and silent firework display at The Pulpit Inn at 7pm on Tuesday, November 5.

The treasured Portland pub has recently been threatened with demolition however community groups have been battling to save it. 

Now the venue will host the display with entry completely free 

 

Dorchester Rugby Club Fireworks:

 

The club's annual fireworks display will return with attractions for all the family on Tuesday, November 5.

Gates open at 6pm with fireworks due to go up at 7.30pm.

Hot food, drinks and treats will be available on the night as well as entertainment for people of all ages. 

Tickets cost £7 for adults, £5 for children aged 5 to 15 and those under 5 go free. 

There is also a family package at £20 for a family of four. 

 

Upwey Fireworks:

 

Upwey's annual fireworks and bonfire display will be returning to its new location at West Farm DT3 5PS on Bincombe Road on Saturday November 2. 

It was previously held behind Westbrook Barn on Church Street. 

It is organised by the Upwey Society and the fire will be lit at 6pm, with fireworks around 6.45pm.

Entry is free but donations are welcome. People are advised not to bring sparklers due to cows on the field.  

 

Minterne Gardens Fireworks:

 

There will be a fireworks display at Minterne Gardens, which is just off the A352 north of Dorchester, on Friday, November 1. 

Gates open from 5pm with the bonfire lit at 7pm and the fireworks display at 7.30pm.

There will be music, food and drink for visitors to enjoy.

Entry is £7 for children aged 3 to 16 years old. 

Tickets on the Gate cost £18.00 for adults and £45.00 for a family ticket. 

 

There will not be a display at Sherborne Castle and Gardens this year.
