A coastal footpath on Portland has been closed due to dangers of falling rocks.
Dorset Council has issued a notice alerting the public to an emergency temporary closure of a public footpath going down to Church Ope Cove.
The closure comes following an increased frequency of rockfalls in the area and there is too great a risk that the public may be hit by falling rocks.
It came into operation on Friday, October 25 and will remain in force for 21 days.
Plans are currently underway to decide how to make the path safer.
An alternative route has been signposted.
You can find out more information about the closure by contacting David Ackerley on 01305 224630. For further information about Rights of Way matters, call Dorset Countryside on 01305 221000.
