A town council helped to fund three arts events that brought joy to the town this year.
Dorchester Town Council awarded grants to three unique projects through its Events & Experiences Fund, set up in partnership with the Dorchester Tourism Partnership and Arts Development Company.
Designed to bring new life to the town, the fund offered up to £5,000 for creative projects, pop-up festivals, and events.
The goal was to support new ideas, with a focus on helping individuals and small organisations with limited previous access to grants.
There were three recipients this year, the Hardy Har Comedy Festival, the Amazing Drawing Festival, and The Trial of Iago.
A spokesperson for Dorchester Town Council said: "There were three incredible recipients this year. In July, The Hardy Har Comedy Festival brought laughter to the town with a day of comedy acts.
"The Amazing Drawing Festival, in September, drew over three hundred people who got messy with a wide range of artistic activities.
"And recently, The Trial of Iago took place at Shire Hall Museum - a courtroom opera created to make opera more accessible, and sold out all nights.
"These events entertained visitors and enriched Dorchester's cultural scene, embodying the fund's mission to support creative initiatives that foster community engagement."
