A brilliant Halloween attraction is opening for one night only.

Terror Castle can be found at 102 Belgrave, Southill, Weymouth, on Halloween (Thursday, October 31) from 4.30pm – 10pm, and is perfect for the whole family.

The ghoulish attraction has been created from the imagination of 19-year-old Harry Steele who has had a passion for ghost trains from a very young age.

Harry said: “It all started when I was about four or five years old. I went to a funfair and there was a ghost train there, and at the time my family didn’t know if I liked it or not, but when I got home, I was recreating it with bits of A4 paper - and that’s how it all started.

Harry’s main interest however is lighting and he warks as the technical manager at Weymouth pavilion, explaining that ‘there’s a lot of lighting that plays into the horror stuff.’

He has now been running the Terror Castle from his parent’s garage for approximately five or six years, with different features every year.

The 19-year-old revealed that one year they had more than 400 people show up at once, with more making an appearance throughout the evening.

He said: “I do a different theme in our front garden every year and there is something new in the castle every year. We don’t force anyone to go through the garage which is where the Terror Castle is.

“I have always been into it as it’s a chance to show off some of my stuff to people and see their reactions.”

The idea behind the Horror walk-through came from the ‘Terror Castle’ ghost train at Brean Theme Park.

Harry said: “When I was really young looking on YouTube at ghost trains it was top tier above the rest by far.”

To create his very own version, he uses a mixture of professional animatronics, some of which come all the way from the USA.

There is more and more added to the maze each year and Harry’s mum Pip Gowans explained that her son ‘wasn’t happy until he got the last piece – Psycho Sam – which you will see at the start.’

The latest addition to the castle is ‘Psycho Sam’ – a terrifying asylum patient - which is there to greet visitors at the beginning of the walk-through.

She added: “There are so many little kids that love it,” explaining that it’s down to the parents whether they think their children will enjoy it.

Harry’s Dad, John Steele will also be out in the front garden providing Halloween entertainment with a bit of scare acting.

The attraction starts as you enter the door to the maze and you are immediately greeted with an animatronic psycho patient, with lighting and sound affects that add to the terror.

Every twist and turn of the ghost train-inspired attraction provides something brilliant and unique – including a particular jump scare in the second room. Watch the video below for a walk through.
