A large group behaving antisocially were ordered to leave a park and gardens by police.
Weymouth Neighbourhood Police Team (NPT) were patrolling Easton Gardens, Portland yesterday, after receiving reports of large groups gathering and causing antisocial behaviour in the area.
Whilst on their patrol, they came across a group and issued them with a dispersal notice – meaning that they must leave the area immediately or they would be liable to arrest.
A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland Police said: “Weymouth NPT officers have been patrolling Easton Gardens on Portland due to reports of large groups gathering and causing anti-social behaviour.
“We came across a group and issued one of them a section 35 dispersal notice which means they must leave immediately, or they can be liable to arrest. We will continue to patrol Easton Gardens in the next coming days.”
