A group of men have reportedly been acting suspiciously around vehicles in a Dorset town amid a rise in reports of vehicle thefts.
Dorchester Police were alerted to a group of men acting suspiciously around vehicles in the Poundbury area following a call from a local resident.
The team have also been conducting enquiries in relation to recently reported crimes and have been exploring a number of lines of enquiry.
A spokesperson for Dorchester Police said: “Late turn Neighbourhood Officers have been on targeted patrol throughout the evening, in response to recent reports of vehicle crime in the Dorchester area. Patrols continue.
“Earlier this evening we attended reports of a group of males acting suspiciously around vehicles in the Poundbury area following a call from a local resident.
“We have also been conducting enquiries in relation to recently reported crimes and have been exploring a number of lines of enquiry.
“Please continue to report your concerns to us so we can take the appropriate action and direct our patrols accordingly.
“Also remember to ensure vehicles are locked and all valuables are removed.”
