Nothe Fort in Weymouth has unveiled its plans for this year's Remembrance Day service - which will include free entrance for a limited time.
The fort is hosting the service to honour those who served and remember their sacrifice. Anyone turning up to join in with the service will get free entry between 10.30am and 10.45am on Saturday, November 9.
The fort has decided to hold its service a day earlier in order not to clash with Weymouth Town Council's Remembrance Day Service on Sunday, November 10.
Nothe Fort Chairman James Farquharson said: “We are delighted to offer free entrance to Nothe Fort between 10.30am to 10.45am for those in the community who wish to participate in our Remembrance Service."
At 11.30am the mayor of Weymouth Cllr John Orwell will unveil this year's Community Poppy Display at the fort.
The Community Poppy Display has been developed over the past three years by Nothe Fort volunteers and community groups and 2024 will see the display almost double in size.
The poppies have been made from recycled plastic bottles, with some members of the community writing a name upon their poppy as a special dedication.
The Dolphin Marching Band and the Weymouth Sea Cadets will also be holding make-and-take activities, where visitors can make their own paracord poppy broches and bracelets with a donation to the Royal British Legion.
