A 'SHEPHERD' is being sought to look after animals on Portland on behalf of a prison.
The Ministry of Justice is looking for someone to transport and graze 15 sheep on 2.5 hectares of grassland.
The land is owned by HMP the Verne, which is on Verne Common Road, Portland, DT5 1EQ.
The 'shepherd' will be required to to transport and graze the sheep on the grassland for conservation purposes between November 2024 and March 2025.
The owner is to be responsible for transport, maintenance and welfare of animals during the grazing period.
The government is seeking expressions of interest in a public notice on the Dorset Echo Public Notices Portal.
