FANS of One Direction will stage a memorial for singer Liam Payne tomorrow at Weymouth's Jubilee Clock.

They are urging others to come along and join them at the landmark Esplanade clock tomorrow at 6pm.

The memorial is the brainchild of Millie Lovett, 21, of Weymouth, who has been a fan of One Direction since 2010.

The Weymouth College student said: "When I heard the news about Liam it hit me badly.

"I've been a fan of them since I was young, I've seen them in concert twice.

"I couldn't go to London for the memorial there and I couldn't see any Dorset memorials to Liam being held so I thought 'let's do my own and let's see what happens'."

Millie said Liam, who died last Wednesday in Argentina, was always her favourite member of One Direction.

"He would just make me smile and laugh, I loved his voice," she said.

Millie said she has many special memories of attending One Direction's Take Me Home tour at Wembley.

She says the Weymouth memorial will be a good way for devastated fans to support each other.

"I've never organised anything like this before," she said.

"We're hoping that fans of Liam and One Direction will want to come along and listen to some of their music with us.

"We're going to be playing some of the album songs that mean a lot to the real fans of the band.

"We want to show that kindness is key and we all want to be kind to each other by coming together in this way."

The Liam Payne Memorial is being held at the Jubilee Clock, Weymouth, on Tuesday, October 22 at 6pm.

Everyone is welcome and people are invited to bring photos, drawings, writings and bubbles or anything they wish to remember Liam. It is requested that people do not bring balloons.
