MOTORISTS are reminded parts of the A35 will continue to close overnight for works over the coming weeks - at different locations.
Work started in September and will continue throughout October.
The Bridport to Axminster stretch of the road was closed recently, but this is back open again and work has moved along the A-road.
From 8pm until 6am, the rest of the overnight closures are as follows:
-Monkey’s Jump Roundabout to Stinsford Roundabout, Dorchester - October 25 to October 29
-Stinsford Roundabout to Bere Regis Roundabout - October 29 to November 1
-Bridport to Dorchester - November 11 to November 13
A spokesperson National Highways said: “Additional investigations and maintenance work where necessary, is being undertaken before the route is handed back to National Highways. Unfortunately, this requires additional closures of the route so work can be undertaken safely and efficiently.
“The work is scheduled overnight when traffic flows are low to cause the least disruption, and every effort is being made to minimise disturbance to local residents and road users during the closures, including combining works, scheduling works to avoid known busy times, and permitting local resident access wherever possible.”
Elsewhere, Goose Hill on the coast road at Portesham (B3157), remains shut as part of a six-week closure for essential work.
Work began on September 30 and continues this month.
Teams are working on a 200-metre stretch of the B3157 to the west of the village, replacing the main with new plastic pipes, in a project that is scheduled to finish on November 8.
