A cruise ship christened by Princess Diana has called into Portland Port.
The MV Artania arrived at around 7.30am this morningt, with assistance from tugs Rupert Best and Maiden Castle.
Accommodating up to 1,200 guests, she left Bremerhaven in Germany on Friday, as part of an 19 day round trip, and had a day at sea yesterday. The ship will leave port for Ponta Delgado in the Azores at 5pm today.
Artania is the third Phoenix Reisen cruise ship to visit Portland this month, with Amadea and Amera stopping at the port on Thursday October 3 and Friday, October 4 respectively.
Built in 1984, the 230m long ship is operated by Phoenix Reisen cruise line, has eight decks was christened by Princess Diana. She sails under the flag of the Bahamas, has three restaurants as well as several bars.
