A Conservative MP looking to become the next leader of the party met supporters in Dorset as she stopped off on the campaign trail.
Kemi Badenoch, who is riding high in polls with Tory members, met local Conservatives at the Dorset Museum and Art Gallery in Dorchester.
The North West Essex MP and shadow housing secretary was meeting members of Dorset’s Conservative associations in a private event on Friday.
Former South Dorset MP Ian Bruce said it was a 'packed meeting'.
He said: "She seems to me a breath of fresh air and the most able to create a united shadow cabinet and plan for the future."
Ms Badenoch and Robert Jenrick are vying for the support of Conservative members in their quest to succeed Rishi Sunak as Tory leader.
Mr Sunak stood down after leading the Tories to their worst performance at a general election, but has stayed on as acting leader until his replacement is chosen.
Mr Jenrick and Ms Badenoch made it to the final two in the contest after James Cleverly failed to make it through the final round in the MPs' ballot last week.
Votes are now being cast to decide the winner. The new leader will be announced on November 2.
