An emergency protest has been organised for Weymouth today as campaigners continue to call for a ceasefire in Lebanon and Gaza.
Members of the Dorset Palestine Solidarity Campaign will be holding a 'die-in' on new Bond Street near to the Range at 12.30pm on Saturday, October 19.
A die-in, sometimes known as a lie-in, is a form of protest in which participants simulate being dead.
The group held a similar protest in Dorchester when around 50 pro-Palestinian campaigners held the ‘die-in’ outside of a town centre bank in June.
It forms part of a larger national day of action as protesters demand a stop to the conflict between Israel, Hamas and Hezbollah.
The latest protest comes after almost 70 people gathered in Dorchester and Bridport in September in response to the extension of Israel's war on Gaza to Lebanon.
The group was demanding an arms embargo on Israel and an immediate, permanent ceasefire in both Gaza and Lebanon.
