A building was evacuated due to an 'unknown' object found.

The road leading towards the Bob Lucas Stadium and Weymouth Police Station was cordoned cordoned off by police on Thursday evening. 

Police tape is blocking the section of Radipole Lane either side of the entrance to the stadium.

Dorset Police said it received a report just after 5.15pm that an unknown object had been found outside Weymouth police station. 

A spokesman for the force said: "As is usual in such circumstances, in the interests of safety whilst an assessment is made, a cordon has been put in place and a building has been evacuated as a precaution."
