An air ambulance has been in attendance of a medical emergency on Portland
The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance has landed in the area of the Grove on Portland.
It is understood that the crew were attending an incident at Shepherds Cross along with the ambulance service.
Nearby residents have confirmed hearing the helicopter flying around the island earlier.
The nature of the incident is yet to be confirmed and the air ambulance has since taken off.
It is understood that nobody was airlifted.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 10.33am on Thursday, October 17 to an incident in Portland.
"We sent two double-crewed ambulances, and air ambulance and a first responder to the scene.”
