Pupils from a school in Blandford have donated more than 100 recipe bags to a local food bank.
Children from Bryanston Prep School, along with parents and staff, have collected essential ingredients to create more than 100 recipe bags for the Blandford Food Bank.
Each bag, carefully assembled by the pupils, contains all the necessary ingredients to prepare meals like cottage pie and tuna pasta bake, ensuring that families in need can enjoy nutritious home-cooked meals.
This follows Bryanston Prep’s recent Harvest Festival Service, held at St Martin’s Church and led by school chaplain, Reverend Davis, in which donations were also contributed to the food bank to support local families.
Bryanston’s head of charities and community engagement, Dr Hannah Fearnley, has emphasised the school community’s commitment to helping others.
She said: “Humanity and a sense of community is at the heart of what we do at Bryanston.
"Our pupils are aware of the struggles faced by many people in our local area and understand the importance of coming together to offer support and help in any way they can.”
Pupils have also been generously donating children’s coats and pyjamas from Prep School families to the clothes bank at The Centre in Ferndown, which is linked to Wimborne Food Bank.
These school says that these donations are part of its ongoing commitment to support the local community and local charities, as well as promoting a compassionate and socially responsible environment for its pupils.
