A flood alert has been issued for rivers in west Dorset.
The Environment Agency has released an alert which comes into force from tonight (Wednesday, October 16) for west Dorset rivers and streams.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Frome.
It comes after heavy rainfall yesterday, with more rain forecast to continue in the area this afternoon and overnight, which the Environment Agency says will lead to rising river levels.
A separate flood alert was also issued for the River Lim, River Char, River Winniford, Simene River, River Brit, River Asker, River Mangerton, and River Bride.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said: “We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and closely monitoring the forecast. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.”
The agency will provide an update tomorrow (Thursday, October 17) at 12.30pm, or as the situation changes.
