A car that was stolen from Weymouth has been located by police.

Following information from the Rural Crime Team, officers from Dorchester Police located a car yesterday (Tuesday, October 15) within the western area of the Dorchester neighbourhood policing team’s remit.

According to police, the car was stolen from Weymouth, and was in a poor state, however officers were able to recover and return items from the car belonging to the owner.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “The car had been stolen from Weymouth and was in a poor state but items belonging to the owner were managed to be recovered and returned.

“Further investigative opportunities have been located and the net tightens around those who are committing these crimes.

“As a reminder, please make sure that your vehicles are always locked as a lot of vehicle crimes are opportunistic.”
