A group of travel agents hosted a successful fundraising event for vital mental health causes in Dorset.
Weymouth's branch of Hays Travel hosted a quiz night at Weymouth Pavilion which saw more than 180 people attending.
The event raised a total of £3,000 which will be distributed amongst three charities; Dorset Mental Health Forum, Carer Support Dorset, and Young Minds.
Hays Travel Weymouth branch manager, Hayley Gadd, said “It’s really important to us at Hays Travel to give back to our local community and support projects and charities that are close to our hearts.
"Thanks to all of my lovely team for all their efforts in organising and running the event. We look forward to seeing everyone at Hays Travel Weymouth’s next fundraiser!”
The quiz was run by Ultimate Party Nights events company and was followed by live music from Ed Hintze and The Haze.
The Dorset Mental Health Forum is a charity that is run and staffed by people with their own experiences of ill mental health.
Sarah Rose, director of operations, said: “We were delighted to be a chosen charity for this Hays Travel fundraiser. The team went all out to promote and celebrate our work. There was a fantastic turnout and our beneficiaries came along and enjoyed a very well organised evening.
“We want to say a big thank you for all the efforts. Money raised will go towards supporting people across Dorset who are struggling with mental ill health and the impacts of trauma.”
Carer Support Dorset help unpaid carers to access support and services to assist them with their caring role.
Anna Sibbald, head of fundraising, added: “A big thank you for organising the quiz night fundraiser in Weymouth on Friday evening. We very much enjoyed attending the event and it was great to see so much support from so many.
“The night was a big success and Hays Travel’s support will make a big difference to Carer Support Dorset. It means a lot to our organisation.”
