Police are looking to identify two people in relation to a suspected arson attack.

Emergency services rushed to a fire at St Alban Street, Weymouth, in the early hours of the morning on August 29 - details and an appeal for information have only been made available today by police.

Firefighters tackled the blaze, started on some scaffolding, which also caused damage to the exterior of nearby properties.

It was reported that the cause was believed to be suspicious.

Police have now released CCTV stills of two people seen climbing on the scaffolding at around 2.20am that morning.

Police Constable Georgia Hedditch, of Weymouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this fire and are now in a position to release a CCTV image of two people we would like to identify.

“I would urge anyone who recognises them, or who had any further information that might assist our enquiries, to please contact us.”
