A talk will take place on the history of a town’s railway lines.
The Friends of Weymouth Museum are welcoming transport enthusiast David Riches to give a presentation on the town’s railways.
Held on Monday, October 21 at the Hope United Reformed Church on Trinity Street, doors will open at 2pm with the talk starting at 2.30pm.
Mr Riches will start with a talk on the incorporation of the Wilts, Somerset and Weymouth Railway in 1845, with the line arriving in the seaside town 12 years later.
Starting with Weymouth Station, the story of the lines is told via photographs as well as maps, and will include information on Abbotsbury and Dorchester.
A former chair of the Friends of Weymouth Museum, Mr Riches has interests in local transport history and has volunteered at the museum since his early retirement in 1997.
Tickets can be purchased on the door, and are £3 for visitors, and £2 for members of the Friends of Weymouth Museum.
