STOLEN meat and drugs were found after police detained two "prolific shoplifters" in Weymouth.
Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing officers were on patrol in the area of KFC and McDonalds at the Jubilee Retail Park in Weymouth, when police said they identified two "prolific shoplifters" attempting to leave the area
A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland Police said: "Following a quick foot chase, the circumstances led to the two being detained for a stop and search.
"Subsequently, a large quantity of stolen meat was found, and a quantity of drugs was located.
"Both people were arrested and taken to Custody where they are currently assisting us with our enquiries."
