When firefighters arrived on the scene, a Land Rover was found to be "well alight" outside the owner's home.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze using two hose reel jets and breathing apparatus.
The cause of the fire is unknown however, according to the fire service, it is believed to have been a mechanical fault.
The incident happened during a drill session at Bere Regis Fire Station at 8.21pm on Tuesday, October 8.
The Royal Oak pub in Bere Regis surprised firefighters with some food following their emergency callout.
A spokesperson for Bere Regis Fire Station said: "We would also like to thank The Royal Oak, Bere Regis for unexpectedly popping down with a selection of their tapas evening menu as a surprise drill night treat.
"Suffice to say it gave us the energy we needed to do our job and was rather delicious."
