A Weymouth woman admitted to assaulting her ex-partner in Weymouth town centre.
Shanay Amelia Hastings, of St Leonards Road in Weymouth, pleaded guilty to assault by beating.
The charge states that on May 4, at Trinity Road in Weymouth, Hastings, 21, assaulted her ex-partner by beating her.
Laura Lohk, prosecuting, said: “The defendant called police at 3.50 am, saying her ex-partner was making threats.
“Police arrived and Hastings was being pushed into her flat by her friends.
“The victim was bleeding outside with a cut to her elbow.
“The victim and the defendant were ex-partners who had an argument.
“The defendant told police that her ex-partner had hit her and she had ‘punched the s**t out of her back’.”
The court was shown CCTV footage which showed the defendant slaps and punches the victim on St Thomas Street and on the Town Bridge in Weymouth.
Simon Lacey, mitigating, said: “My client accepts she assaulted the victim, however, although there is reference to an injury, she has no idea how that injury occurred.
“It is not just a one-way thing, the footage does show a low-level assault.
“She says she and the victim were in a relationship for five years and split up two years ago.
“She was invited to the defendant’s flat, where it kicks off.
“They go into town and Hastings says she doesn’t want the victim to come back.
“The victim follows her screaming and shouting.
“It is not a high-velocity punch or push.
“She is remorseful and says she regrets everything.”
Hastings was issued a fine of £120, and ordered to pay a surcharge of £48 and court costs of £85.
