A classical concert featuring the works of Italian composers is coming to Dorchester this weekend.
The Dorset Chamber Orchestra will be performing its first concert of the season at St. Mary’s Church on Edward Road in Dorchester.
All the pieces will be from Italian composers or composers who reflect an Italian style.
The concert opens with Corelli's concerto grosso leading to Schubert’s 5th Symphony which bears a strong Italian influence.
Mendelssohn’s ‘Italian’ Symphony, will also be performed, along with Respighi’s 3 Botticelli Pictures which is an musical evocation of the three celebrated paintings by Sandro Botticelli.
The concert will be held at 7.30m on Saturday, October 12.
Tickets are just £1 for anyone 18 or under with adults admitted for just £16. There is also a 3-concert saver offer available.
