A TEENAGE boy who was violently assaulted in a twisted revenge attack pleaded 'let me go' as he was kicked into a river and ordered to strip, a court heard.

The victim was forced to shoplift alcohol, had valuable items stolen from him before being marched to the River Frome in Dorchester where he was pushed in and made to do star jumps for the amusement of his attackers - two teenage boys.

When the victim's worried father tracked his phone to find him, he was also violently assaulted.

A 17-year-old boy from Weymouth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in youth court at Poole in connection the incident, which occurred in on July 31 in Dorchester.

He pleaded guilty to stealing a £16.50 crate of cider from the Co-op, stealing a £17.75 bottle of spirits from Iceland, stealing valuables from the victim, and causing him grievous bodily harm.

Another boy, aged 15, appeared in court in August in connection with the same incident and admitted offences.

Dorset Police issued an appeal following the attack describing the incident as 'nasty'.

Jason Spellman, prosecuting, told the court that the victim and the two defendants were known to each other, and had recently been in conflict over distribution of a 'diss video' by the victim.

A 'diss' (disrespect) video is made to publicly insult, criticize, or call out another person.

Mr Spellman said: "By way of revenge...they forced him to take part in two shoplifts and steal alcohol. They made it clear he could not leave. He became worried and nervous."

The court heard the defendants made threats they were going to 'torture' the victim and punched him a number of times.

They also took his bag, stealing a metal chain of sentimental value, sunglasses and a Bluetooth speaker.

The group then moved to the river at Frome Terrace, Dorchester (pictured below).

(Image: Newsquest) Mr Spellman added: "The assault then continued. The victim is kicked into the river by the defendant.

"He is then made to take his clothes off and do star jumps."

Whenever a member of the public went by, the victim was made to hide.

When the victim got out, he was punched again in the face and struck over the head with a bottle, the court heard.

At this point, a button was accidentally pushed on the victim's phone calling his grandmother, who became concerned after hearing him pleading "let me go".

The grandmother called the victim's father, who used the 'find my phone' facility to track down his son.

Upon arriving at the river the father was also assaulted by the 15-year-old.

Patricia Sheehan, mitigating, told the court that the 17-year-old defendant has no previous convictions.

The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges, and will next appear at Weymouth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, November 27 for sentencing.

His 15-year-old co-defendant - who pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of cannabis, three counts of theft and assault causing actual bodily harm - will be sentenced at Weymouth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, October 30.

Both are on conditional bail not to contact the victim or each other.
