Train services between Dorchester and Yeovil were experiencing delays due to a signalling problem earlier today.
There were delays of up to 15 minutes between Dorchester West and Yeovil Pen Mill on the Great Western Railway line.
This was because of a signalling problem along the line.
A spokesperson for Great Western Railway said:
"The 07.33am Weymouth to Gloucester service was terminated at Bristol Temple Meads having been delayed at Maiden Newton.
"We are really sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. If you were delayed by 15 minutes or more, you may be entitled to compensation and we would encourage you to get in touch."
The problem has now been resolved and train services have returned to normal.
