A RELEASE date has been announced for the second series of a hit TV series that was part-filmed in Weymouth.

The second season of Apple TV's Bad Sisters will be released on November 13.

Scenes for the show, which stars Sharon Horgan, were filmed on a boat out of Weymouth harbour in March of this year.

Eva Birthistle and Sarah Greene, who play Ursula Garvey and Bibi Garvey respectively, were seen in the town taking off on a yacht from the harbour.

Film crews were also seen shooting on the harbourside.

Miss Horgan, the writer and lead actress in the Emmy-nominated series, was also spotted on Hope Road in Weymouth.

The series follows the lives of the Garvey sisters, who are bound together by the premature death of their parents and a promise always to protect one another. 

The second series takes place two years after the “accidental death” of Grace’s abusive husband.

Crews also filmed at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy and were seen setting up trailers in the car park ahead of filming taking place.

More recently a Netflix movie starring Keira Knightley has been part-filmed at nearby Portland Harbour. 

She is believed to be filming an adaptation of Ruth Ware’s bestselling novel The Woman in Cabin 10.

Production crews were spotted in the area of Portland Port and a superyacht has been spotted off the Dorset coast which is believed to play a key part in the plot of the movie. 

In Woman in Cabin 10 the travel journalist played by Miss Knightly witnesses a passenger tossed overboard in the dead of night, and no one believes her story as all on the ship have been accounted for.

She searches for answers, putting her own life in danger.

Guy Pearce, who is also in the film, has recently been seen spotted in the Weymouth branch of Asda.  He is known for playing heartthrob Mike in Aussie soap Neighbours before going into films.

Another star of the film, Hannah Waddingham, famed for playing Richmond FC chairman Rebecca in another hit Apple TV series Ted Lasso, was also spotted in a Weymouth shop.

She posed for a photograph with Weymouth shopworker in Boots.

Boots staff members Shannon Ellis and Jeanne Filosopo had an opportunity to chat with Ms Waddingham and even grab a selfie.

Shannon said: “She was really lovely and down to earth. I was really shocked to see her in here [Boots], I used to watch her in Benidorm and since then she has got really famous.”
