Staff and adults with additional support needs from a day service have worked to clean up an 'unsightly' area of Portland.
Since 2017, adults attending Muntsy’s Day Centre have been looking after the Castletown area of Portland by tending the planted boats, and flowerbeds, and keeping the area tidy with regular litter picks.
Muntsy's is a commissioned day service for adults with additional support needs such as learning/physical disabilities, mental health, sensory loss etc.
A spokesperson for Muntsy's said: “Community work tasks are an important part of what we do as it encourages a positive work ethic, teamwork, communication skills and a connection to the community.
"The groups take great pride in their work and the results achieved. Everybody worked their socks off to remove all the weeds from the pavements, overhaul and plant the containers on the roundabout and generally make the area presentable again.
"We cannot thank the McDonald's team enough as they have enabled us to continue maintaining the area going forward – it is now manageable.
"Fantastic teamwork today from everyone. Also, a big thank you to Litter Free Dorset, Portland Port and Agincare for your continued support."
