NEW beach huts proposed for a site off Burlington Chine, Swanage have been refused by Dorset Council.
Swanage Town Council had objected to the plans saying that the site was close to a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and Special Area of Conservation, and councillors had concerns about the potential adverse impact on local wildlife and its habitats.
“Further to its concerns, the Town Council was disappointed to note that the site had been cleared, and trees removed, prior to the planning application being submitted to Dorset Council,” said a note from the town council to Dorset Council.
The application is one of several from the area which relates to leisure activities.
Details of the beach hut proposal can be seen on the Dorset Council website, using the references provided.
